As the commercial gaming industry grows, its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) increases along with it. Gaming industry professionals understand that their communities are just as great a part of their success as anything else. The American Gaming Association (AGA), as a leader in the gaming industry, takes care to monitor the environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices of prominent industry actors. The AGA ESG page takes account of the practices of the industry as a whole as well as those of big industry movers.
Global Payments Gaming Solutions’ ESG practices, which the AGA listed on its website, reflect its own desire to improve the organization and the community. Global Payments established an Inclusion and Diversity Advisory Council (I&D) to provide insight on all Global Payments’ Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Global Payments is also set to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emission by 2040 by lowering data center emissions and moving workloads to more efficient data centers. Global Payments is also involved with pandemic relief efforts with the American Red Cross, Feeding America, United Way and other organizations. In 2020 alone, Global Payments donated nearly $7 million to organizations that have touched the lives of its employees.
Global Payments Gaming Solutions also strongly promotes responsible gaming with the initiatives it supports and in its products themselves. Last year, Global Payments Gaming partnered with the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) to participate in the UNLV International Gaming Institute’s Research Collaborative on Responsible and Cashless Gaming Solutions. Global Payments Gaming Solutions also includes responsible gaming features like cooling-off periods and pre-set configurable spending limits in its products. Patrons can also opt-out of services through voluntary self-exclusion.
